Ten killed in road accidents
At least ten persons are killed and three injured in separate road accidents across the country yesterday.
In Chittagong, Aman Ullah, 28, a soldier of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was killed after a lorry ran him over at Oxygen Intersection in the port city, police said.
The victim was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Camp, where the doctors declared him dead.
In Tangail, Jibon 24, Mamun, 27, Munna 28, and Krishna, 28, were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks on Bangabandhu Bridge link road in Kalihati upazila, reports our correspondent.
Police said a stone-laden truck collided head on with a mini-truck, leaving two dead on spot. The other two, who were critically injured, died at a local hospital.
In Sylhet, CNG driver Arman 25, and two passengers -- Jakir Hossain, 45, and another unidentified -- died after a Sylhet bound truck hit the three-wheeler on Dhaka-Sylhet highway, police said quoting witnesses. Three others were injured in the incident.
Meanwhile in Mymensingh, Bacchu Mia, 45, and Saiful Islam, 35, were killed after being run over by a pick-up van on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, reports our correspondent.
The driver fled the scene and a case has been lodged in this regard.
