Technology can be used to stop it too: Discussion
The same technology used for leaking question papers in the public examinations can be used as a tool to prevent it, speakers said at a roundtable yesterday.
With the help of technology, those responsible for leaking question papers can be identified and brought to book, they added.
Organised by Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF), Jaago Foundation, Paribartan Chai and Dhaka University IT Society, the roundtable on possible solutions to stop question paper leaks by using technology was held at the BDBL Bhaban in capital's Karwan Bazar.
Mir Shahrukh Islam, managing director of Bondstein, an IT solution company, said internet can be a tool to stop to the question paper leaks.
He said the questions should be sent to the exam centres via online and those should be printed at the centres 30 minutes prior to the exams.
A “smart box” can also be used where the data [questions] will be stored. The boxes will have internet connections and could only be accessed remotely by the authorities concerned. In this way, teachers will not be able to receive the question papers before the exams, he added.
Korvi Rakshand, founder of JAAGO Foundation, said, “We need to create awareness among teachers, students and guardians and the ministry officials…”
Naznin Nahar, vice president of BIJF, and Russell T Ahmed, senior vice president of BASIS, also spoke at the event, moderated by Fahim Mashroor, founder of bdjobs.com.
