Question Leak Ahead of HSC Exams

Stricter measures this time: Nahid

After the SSC examinations were marred with widespread allegations of question leak, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said his ministry has taken stricter measures and strategies to prevent the leak in the upcoming HSC examinations.

"From the experience of SSC exams, we have taken stricter measures than in the past. We've also taken stricter strategies. So we can say that we have done everything humanly possible to prevent question paper leak," he told reporters at a press briefing on the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations scheduled to begin on April 2.

A total of 13,11,457 students from 8,943 educational institutions have registered to take the HSC and equivalent examination-2018 from 2,541 centres under 10 education boards across the country.

Referring to the leak in SSC examinations, the minister said only the MCQs (multiple choice questions) were leaked out and a very small portion of people got those.

"Yet those were of no use as our students had entered the centres by then," he said, calling upon the guardians and teachers not to run after so-called leaked questions.
