SSC candidate, three others killed in road accidents

At least four people, including a SSC candidate, were killed and three others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday.

SSC candidate Sourav Chanda, 17, died and two of his friends were injured after their motorbike lost control and hit a roadside tree in Batiaghata upazila of Khulna, reports our correspondent.

Our Faridpur correspondent reports, Rikta Akter, 32, of Khabaspur area in Faridpur town was killed as a speeding truck hit a motorbike in Tapurakandi area. Injured Panna Akter, 22, was taken to a hospital, said police.

In Sylhet, an unindentified person was killed when a truck ran him over in Mirabazar area. The truck was detained but the driver managed to flee, said police.

Meanwhile in Thakurgaon, NGO worker Zahangir Alam, 30 was killed when a truck ran him over in Pirganj upazila, reports our local correspondent.
