SC again scraps Huda's graft case acquittal
The Supreme Court yesterday upheld its earlier order scrapping a High Court verdict acquitting former BNP minister Nazmul Huda in a corruption case.
A four-member Appellate Division bench dismissed Huda's petition seeking review of its earlier order.
Following an ACC petition, the SC on September 7, 2015 scrapped Huda's acquittal and asked the HC to rehear his acquittal appeal.Huda could not be reached for comment despite repeated attempts over the phone.
A special judge's court in Dhaka on April 3, 2008 sentenced Huda to 12 years' imprisonment for illegally amassing wealth and concealing information about it in his statement submitted to the ACC.
