Road crashes kill four
Four people were killed and 34 others injured in road accidents yesterday and on Thursday.
In Comilla, two persons were killed and four others injured as a bus of Modina Paribahan collided head-on with a pick-up van at Baburchi in Chauddagram of yesterday.
Identities of the dead passengers of the pick-up van could not be known immediately.
The injured were shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
In Chittagong, a helper of a bus driver was killed and around 15 passengers were injured as the bus plunged into a ditch beside Chittagong-Dhaka highway in Sitakunda upazila yesterday.
The deceased was Md Babu, 23, of Demra in Dhaka.
The accident occurred as the Cox's Bazar-bound bus was trying to overtake a lorry. Babu was killed as he tried to jump out of the bus and his head was smashed under the vehicle, said police.
In Dinajpur, Abul Hosssain, 30, of Fakirpara village, was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle near Bhatgaon village in Kaharol upazila on Thursday night.
In Barisal city, 15 passengers were injured after a Dhaka-bound bus hit Shahid Abdur Rahaman Bridge and turned turtle yesterday.
The injured were sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
