Road accidents kill 8, injure 10

Eight people were killed and 10 others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Pabna, four people were killed and 10 others injured as a covered van hit a bus of Shyamoly Paribahan in Saydabad area near Bangabandhu bridge (west zone).
One of the deceased was Ariful Islam, driver of the covered van. Identity of the other three could not be known immediately.
The bus driver was trying to overtake a truck, said Sayed Shohid Alam, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge West Zone Police Station. The injured were admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital.
In Faridpur, Limon, 18, and Sabbir, 18, were killed as a truck hit a motorbike on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Kalipar area of Madhukhali upazila.
Meanwhile, Kadar, 14, a ninth-grader, died as a bus ran him over on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Goriadaho area of Madhukhali upazila.
In Mymensingh, fruit vendor Nayeeb Ali, 50, was killed as a bus hit his bicycle in Boleswar area of Muktagacha upazila.
