Python rescued, released to Sylhet nat'l park

A python was released at Khadimnagar National Park in Sylhet yesterday afternoon after it had been rescued from a tree in the district.
The large snake that is 10-foot in length and around 40kg in weight was rescued from Kachuarpar village of Gowainghat upazila.
On information, Bashir Ahmed, a member of Khadimnagar union in Sadar upazila, rushed to the spot and brought the python to his house so that locals cannot harm it.
Bashir said the snake entered the locality to take shelter as flash flood hit the low-lying areas in the upazila.
Being informed by the UP member, forest officials rushed to his residence.
Later, Khadimnagar Beat Officer Chayanbrata Chowdhury, along with other officials of Forest Department, released it deep into the forest, said RFM Monirul Islam, divisional forest officer of Sylhet Forest Division.
