Police on Monday night arrested a man who had allegedly raped two children, one aged six and another seven, for over a month at Kuyaish in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong.

A chauffer at a private company, Md Hossen, 36, of Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar district, was their paying guest and molested the sisters several times when their parents, both garment workers, were at work.

On Monday afternoon, the victims' brother, a teenager who came from Madrasa a few days ago on leave, noticed the matter and called out for help.

A Chittagong court yesterday sent Hossen to jail.

Meanwhile in Pabna, two teenage girls have allegedly been raped by their two friends at Digha village of Ishwardi upazila.

Police arrested one of the accused Md Ramjan Ali, 20, on Monday night hours after one of the victims' father filed a case.
