Outgoing air chief, successor meet PM

Both outgoing Air chief Marshal Abu Esrar and new chief Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad office yesterday.

Air Marshal Serniabat will take over the command of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) on June 12 next for three years.

The premier welcomed the new chief and praised the works of the outgoing chief, said PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim while briefing reporters.

Abu Esrar expressed his gratitude to the PM for the cooperation extended by her and her government in discharging duties during his tenure.

Hasina stressed the need for a strong air force in the country. She hoped that the air force will get stronger under the new leadership.
