Office resumes after 9-day Eid holiday
Government, non-government, banks and private offices resumed today after a nine-day Eid vacation.
Meanwhile, many Dhaka city dwellers returned yesterday in order to join their respective workplaces today.
The government had announced July 4, the only workday between the Eid holidays, as a public holiday, paving the way for a nine-day vacation starting from July 1.
The first two days of July were weekend, while the next day was another holiday for Shab-e-Qadr. The next three days were the official holiday for Eid followed by another weekend. The public servants had their vacation from July 1 till July 9.
However, the government employees will have to make up for July 4 on July 16, a Saturday.
The regular buzz on most of the city streets was also not there, while owners of many shops and business centres kept their shutters down.
