Woman found dead at home

A woman was found dead at her house in Narayanganj yesterday.

Police suspect that Amena Khatun, 60, was killed by burglars as she had an earring in the left ear, but did not have one in the right ear.

Blood was oozing from her right ear, said Araihazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Akter Hossain.

She might have been strangled as she would be able to recognise the criminals if she was alive, the OC added.

Informed by locals, police recovered the body around 12:00 noon.

A worker of a power loom factory, Amena used to live alone near her workplace in Bishnandi area under official arrangement, said the police officer.

They were interrogating four people in connection with the incident, he said.

Amena's son Jamir Uddin, 40, who lives in Narsingdi, was filing a written complaint with the police station, accusing several unknown persons till last evening, said the OC.

Police sent the body to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
