Woman found dead in her flat

A housewife was found dead in her flat in Azampur area of Dakkhinkhan in the capital yesterday.

The woman, Shompa Shahjahan, 28, might have died by suicide, speculated Shafiqul Gani Shabu, inspector (investigation) of Dakkhinkhan Police Station.

Police sent the body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of her death.

Shompa's husband called the police and said he had found her hanging from the ceiling around 10:00am when he returned home with breakfast, Inspector Shafiqul said. 

Shompa had attempted to kill herself three times before, he also said, quoting her mother.
