Swechchhasebak Dal man stabbed

Miscreants stabbed an activist of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal at his residence in Narayanganj last night.

Police said Russel Ahmed, a member of the pro-BNP group's Narayanganj unit, was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

His condition was critical, they said.

Rafiqul Islam, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station, said four to five unidentified men entered Russel's flat on the second floor of a five-storey building in Amlapara area of Fatullah around 8:00pm.

“They stabbed Russel in the head and other parts of the body and fled when his neighbours started screaming,” he said.

Police said they are investigating the incident and legal actions will be taken in this regard.
