Sust wins ACM-ICPC regional contest
The “Descifrador team” representing Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) was declared the champion of Asia Regional (Dhaka site) ACM- ICPC 2018, a prestigious programming contest around the world.
“Blood Hound” representing Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) was announced the first runner up, while “Epinephrine team” of Dhaka University (DU) got the second runner up position.
The event was held on Saturday at Daffodil International University's Ashulia campus in Savar, organised by DIU in association with ICT Division of Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and IT and Bangladesh Computer Council.
This year 298 teams, including three from Nepal, participated in the competition, organisers said. The top 20 teams received cash prizes, memento and certificate, while the champion and runners up teams got ACM-ICPC Dhaka 2018 trophies.
Best two regional contest winners will get tickets to participate in the World Finals which will be hosted by University of Porto in Portugal in 2019.
