Sust terminates asst professor

Authorities of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) on Saturday terminated Plabon Chandra Saha, an assistant professor of economics department, for sexually harassing a female student.

Earlier in October, Plabon was suspended from the post of assistant proctor over the same allegation.

The decision came in the 221st syndicate meeting of the university, after allegations against him were found true, confirmed Prof Mostabur Rahman, a syndicate member.

Plabon joined Sust as a teacher in 2016, after completing his masters. He became the assistant proctor the same year.
