Son to die for killing father

A Mymensingh court yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his father around 14 years ago.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Nurul Amin delivered the convict in presence of the convict, Shariatullah, 38, said Court Inspector Khondaker Zahidul Islam.

On March 13 in 2005, Shariatullah from Dubail village in Gafargaon upazila hacked his father Ibrahim Khalilullah as the latter did not allow him to marry a woman chosen by him, according to the prosecution.

The convict also attacked his mother when she tried to save her husband.

Khalilullah succumbed to his injuries at a hospital the following day.

His other son Sadikullah filed a case with Gafargaon Police Station on March 15, 2005.
