Significance of rural dev stressed
A two-day conference of Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Cumilla began at its office yesterday.
LGRD Minister Md Tazul Islam inaugurated the 53rd Planning Conference in Mainamati Auditorium of BARD where guests and visitors are participating to learn and share their experiences on rural development and co-operative issues.
Lawmaker AKM Bahauddin from Cumilla-6 was present as special guest while Cirdap Director Cherdsak Virapat guest of honour. Besides, Md Rezaul Ahsan, secretary to LGRD ministry, attended the inaugural session.
Minister Tazul Islam talked about the significant role of BARD in reducing poverty and explained how it works.
He also praised activities of BARD founder late Dr Akter Hamid Khan and narrated how he met general people to work with them.
