Robber suspect found dead

An alleged robber was killed in, what police say, a gunfight between two gangs in Jhenidah early yesterday.

Police found the body of Shafiuddin alias Mona, 46, from Chorkol village in Sadar upazila, on a road in Bankira village.

Earlier, the law enforcers rushed to the spot after hearing the sounds of gunshots, said Officer-in-Charge Emdadul Haque Sheikh of Sadar Police Station.

A gun, a bullet and two bombs were also found there, said the OC.

Shafiuddin is an accused of four robbery cases filed with Kotchandpur Police Station, he added.
