Merina Yesmin passes away

Merina Yesmin -- wife of Mahmud Hassan, in-charge of The Daily Star's National Desk -- passed away early yesterday at the age of 44.

She suffered a stroke, and  had undergone surgical procedure. Later, she died at the capital's National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital around 12:10am.

She was buried at the capital's Rayerbazar graveyard yesterday, said her family members.

Merina left behind her husband, two children and a host of well-wishers to mourn her death. The family members requested all to pray for the salvation of her departed soul.

The Daily Star family expressed deep shock at her death.
