Man held for spreading anti-state propaganda

Rab yesterday arrested a man from Segun Bagicha in Dhaka for allegedly spreading anti-state propaganda.

The arrestee is Sheikh Riad Mohammad Nur, 39, acting editor of online news portal “Dainik71.com,” said a Rab press release. 

He has spread anti-state propaganda, distorted the history of the Liberation War and made indecent remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman using the online portal as well as four Facebook pages, Rab claimed in the press release.

In primary interrogation, Nur said he started running the portal after obtaining a trade license.
