Full govt assistance to AG and prosecution: Law minister
The government will provide their full assistance to the attorney general’s office and the prosecution for quick disposal of the cases filed in connection with illegal construction of buildings in Dhaka, Law Minister Anisul Huq said yesterday.
“I have already requested the housing and public works ministry to provide information and all necessary documents to the attorney general’s office and the prosecution,” he said.
He said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguli at his secretariat office yesterday.
When asked whether government would take any action against former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, the minister said, “Wait and see.”
However, the minister hoped that nobody will dare to stage any judicial coup in Bangladesh in future as the democracy in the country is getting stronger day by day.
