Ctg jeweller found murdered inside shop

A jeweller was found murdered inside his shop in Chattogram city’s EPZ area yesterday.

Police said miscreants slit the throat of one Sanjoy Dhar. His body also bore two stab marks on the abdomen, said EPZ Police Station Inspector (investigation) Osman Gani.

“He might have been killed on Friday night,” he said. The killers took nothing but CCTV cameras and footage storage from the shop, said Gani, terming it a pre-planned murder.

Sanjoy, owner of “Monisree Jewellers” in Bandartila area, used to run the shop alone and slept inside it, said Inspector Osman. On Saturday morning, Sanjoy’s wife could not reach him over the phone and asked a woman who supplied food to him to go to the shop.

The woman found the shop’s shutter open and Sanjoy’s bloodstained body inside it, said the inspector.
