'Arrest me, I killed my brother'
With a bloodstained sharp weapon, a man surrendered to police on Saturday night, hours after he had killed his brother in Ashulia, said law enforcers.
Jahed Ali, 26, son of late Fazor Ali, came to Ashulia Police Station around 10:00pm, said Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Javed Masud.
“Arrest me; I killed my brother,” the OC quoted Jahed as saying.
A conflict arose between Jahed and his elder brother Abu Taher over a piece of land which is their ancestral property, said the family.
Taher wanted to sell the land for money to go abroad. But, Jahed asked him not to do so claiming that he is also an owner of it, they said.
Five days ago, Taher took Tk 1 lakh from a customer for this purpose. Over the issue, Jahed became furious and killed his brother, they said.
Taher's throat was slit while he was asleep around 8:30pm on Saturday, said OC Javed.
Police recovered the body from their house in Kaichabari area and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police filed a murder case with the station against Jahed.
