Amir Khasru's bail extended till Oct 21
A Chattogram court yesterday extended BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury's bail till October 21 in a case filed under the ICT and Special Powers Act.
The court also fixed the same date for hearing on the bail petition submitted by the BNP leader, said his lawyer Advocate Mafizul Islam.
Metropolitan Session Judge Akbar Ali Mridha passed the order after the former minister surrendered before the court, on completion of his six weeks anticipatory bail.
Jakaria Dastagir, general secretary of Chattogram city unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), filed the case against Amir Khasru on August 5 after a phone conversation allegedly between him and a BNP activist was leaked.
According to the case statement, Amir Khasru was attempting to create anarchy in the country during the nationwide student protests demanding safe roads.
