61,400 yaba tablets seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Saturday seized 61,400 pieces of yaba worth around Tk 1.84 crore in Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet.

A team of BGB conducted a drive and recovered the consignment, which was smuggled through the Bangladesh-India border, Lt Col Sayeed Hossain, commander of BGB 19 battalion in Sylhet told the press.

A group of five to six men, who smuggled the contraband into the country, managed to escape, he added.
