2 more airlines to operate regular flights
The government approved two more foreign airlines -- Turkish Airlines and Air Arabia -- to operate regular flights to and from Dhaka.
Besides, two other foreign airlines are waiting to get the government's nod.
"We have permitted the two airlines to transport passengers, but Turkish Airlines will start flights from July 2 or 3 and Air Arabia from July 1," said Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairperson Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman.
Malaysian Airlines and Malindo Air have also applied to operate direct flights to and from Bangladesh.
The CAAB chairperson said the government may primarily give them permission to operate transit flights.
