A case has been filed against publisher, editor of the daily Naya Diganta, and a Dhaka University (DU) teacher for publishing a write-up defaming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Jabedul Ajam Masud, former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chattogram city unit, yesterday filed the case with Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate court no-5 of Al Imran Khan.

The accused are Naya Diganta Publisher Shamsul Huda, Editor Alamgir Mohiuddin, and DU teacher of marketing department Prof Morshed Hasan Khan.

Taking the case into cognisance, the court asked officer-in-charge of Panchlaish Police Station to take steps after investigation, said Advocate Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury Babul, lawyer of the petitioner.

BCL leader Masud said Prof Morshed Hossain Khan in his write-up, published in the newspaper on March 26, wrote that Awami League leaders along with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fled the country during the Liberation War in 1971.
