'Missing' college student's body recovered in capital
Police yesterday recovered the body of a student of Dhaka College, with its hands and legs tied up, from a house in Barobagh area of the capital's Mirpur.
Al Amin, 25, is an honours third-year student of the college.
Quoting the house owner, Mollah Jasim Uddin, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of police, Mirpur division, told The Daily Star that two youths had rented the house on Monday afternoon.
Finding the house, situated near the National Heart Foundation Hospital, locked from inside since morning, the owner informed the police. Police around 5:00pm discovered the body from inside and sent it to Dhaka Medical Colleague morgue for an autopsy.
Ibrahim Khalil, who lived with Al Amin at a mess in Mouchak area, said Al Amin went "missing" three days back and they filed a general diary with Shahjahanpur Police Station. Two days back, Al Amin called his father and wanted Tk 1 lakh for saving his life, he said. Later, they found his mobile phone switched off.
