Militancy protested at CU, Ruet
Teachers, students and employees of Chittagong University (CU) and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) held different protest programmes including human chain and rally on their respective campuses yesterday and on Monday against militancy and terrorism in the country.

Around 300 students of CU formed a human chain on the university campus under the banner of CU Journalists Association (CUJA) yesterday afternoon, protesting the recent militant attacks.
Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Bangladesh Chhatra League and Islami Chhatra Sena addressed the human chain.
They urged all to work together to eliminate such heinous acts in the name of religion from the country.
CUJA President Abu Bakar Rahat said, "Militancy is prohibited in Islam. So we all should be united against militancy and terrorism."
"No human being can support militancy and terrorism," he further said, urging the government to nab the militants and ensure capital punishment for them so that none can dare to commit such crimes.

Teachers, students and employees of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) held a rally in the auditorium of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Hall on its campus on Monday to raise awareness against terrorism and militancy.
Ruet Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Alam Beg was present there as the chief guest.
Speakers at the rally said there was no place for terrorism and militancy on the university and they would fight militancy together.
