Max Hospital operating with 'inadequate permits'
The privately-run Max Hospital in the port city is allegedly running operations with inadequate documents, claimed Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) officials yesterday.
A three-member probe committee, formed by the DGHS to investigate the death of Raifa Khan, three-year-old daughter of journalist Rubel Khan, made the statement while talking to journalists.
Raifa, who was admitted to the hospital with a complaint of sore throat on Friday, died from wrong treatment by doctors of the private hospital, alleged her family.
The probe committee visited the hospital and spoke to the doctors and victim's family.
Dr Kazi Jahangir Hossain, chief of the investigation team and also the director (Hospitals and Clinics) of DGHS, said a notice will be served to the hospital and actions will be taken against its authorities.
“I visited Max Hospital and collected all their documents. Our experts are working to assess the amount of negligence that took place in Raifa's treatment,” he said.
