Man 'commits suicide after killing wife'
A man committed suicide in Sylhet today, a day after killing his wife in Ramna area of Dhaka, police suspected.
Taslima Begum, 23, was found dead last evening in her recently rented tin-shed house in Madhubagh, Mashiure Rahman, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, told The Daily Star.
There was sign on her neck that she might be strangled to death, the OC said.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Taslima’s uncle-in-law came to her house in the evening to tell that her husband Sujon Mia, 30, committed suicide in the morning in Sylhet.
While Taslima’s uncle-in-law found the door was locked from outside, he along with locals broke the door and found her lying dead on the bed.
However, locals said, quoting her husband Sujon, a day labourer, who told them that his wife fled with another man.
Meanwhile, in Sylhet, police recovered the body of Sujon, hanging with a tree at Geda Miar colony in Baraikandi, said Shah Md Harunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Dakkhin Surma Police Station.
