Khaleda unwell, relatives fail to meet her
Though they had permission from the jail authorities, relatives of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia could not meet her yesterday due to her illness, said her sister.
“We've come to know that Khaleda Zia is suffering from fever and body aches. She couldn't meet us as she was unable to come down to the guestroom from the 1st floor,” Khaleda's sister Selina Islam told journalists at the gate of Old Dhaka Central Jail.
Selina and four other relatives entered the jail around 4:00pm and came out about 45 minutes later.
Earlier on Wednesday, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a press conference alleged that the jail authorities were not allowing Khaleda's relatives and party leaders to meet her with an ulterior motive.
