Khadiza murder attempt verdict Mar 8

A Sylhet court today fixed March 8 for delivering the verdict in a case filed for attacking college student Khadiza Begum Nargis last year.
Metropolitan Session Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha fixed the date on completion of hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defence, said Mahfuzur Rahman, additional public prosecutor.

On October 3 last year, Khadiza Begum Nargis, a student of Sylhet Government Women's College, was brutally hacked by Badrul Alam, a student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and senior assistant secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League unit at the institute.
A total of 32 witnesses out of 33 gave deposition before a Sylhet court.

On November 15, 2016, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of the district Umme Sharaban Tahura accepted the charge sheet that police pressed accusing Badrul on November 8.
On October 5, 2016, Badrul Alam confessed to hacking Khadiza in his statement he made under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
