Japanese team meets DU VC Arefin

A three-member delegation from Japan called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter's office in the university yesterday.

The members of the team, led by Masahiro Isokawa, president of Kansai Action Company of Japan, were Shinya Nishimura, director, and Anup Somader, legal adviser of the same company.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues including development of leather technology and environment science education at Dhaka University, said a press release of the university.

The Japanese delegation expressed willingness to recruit skilled manpower in their company from Bangladesh.

The possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative research programmes by the University of Dhaka and Kansai Action Company, Japan were also discussed in the meeting.
