Mohammad Javed Patwary, inspector general of police, has been promoted to the rank of the senior secretary.

The home ministry issued a circular in this regard, said a handout of the ministry signed by Farzana Jesmin, senior assistant secretary, yesterday.

He was appointed as the new IGP on January 25 this year.
