Prashanta Kumar Biswas, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal of Habiganj, has been appointed as the registrar of the International Crimes Tribunal.

The law ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on February 15, Md Rezaul Karim, public relations officer of the ministry, told The Daily Star yesterday.

Md Selim Miah, who was discharging duties as registrar of the ICT since July last year, has been transferred to Election Commission as joint secretary (Law).

The government formed the International Crimes Tribunal in March 2010 to try the perpetrators who committed crimes during the Liberation War in 1971.
