ICT fixes March 15 for probe report submission

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 yesterday directed the prosecution to submit an investigation report, if any, on March 15 in a case filed against a Jessore man for allegedly committing crimes during the Liberation War in 1971.

Yesterday was fixed for submitting the report but Prosecutor Zead Al Malum sought three more months.

Accused Siddiqur Rahman Gazi, 68, from Harergati village in Jessore's Monirampur upazila, is now in jail.

Siddiqur, an alleged sub-commander of Razakar Bahini under Monirampur Police Station, was shown arrested in the case on December 15, 2016. The probe against Siddiqur started on August 22, 2016 and the case's  investigation officer already "found his involvement" in killing during the Liberation War. Siddiqur's name was in a Razakar list prepared by the district administration, the prosecution said.
