Govt forced public servants to join rally

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi yesterday alleged that the government is using the public servants for political purposes.

The government has committed a mistake by forcing the public servants to join the Suhrawardy Udyan rally marking the international recognition of the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he said.

In a statement, issued on Tuesday, Cabinet Division asked all the public servants to join the rally. Terming it unlawful, Rizvi said public servants are not forced to join a political programme in any democratic country.

He was speaking at a human chain organised by Pirojpur Nationalist Forum in Dhaka in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital.
