Govt conspiring to turn country into militant state
The government is conspiring to turn the country into a “failed and militant state”, alleged BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday.
“…they want to turn Bangladesh into Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya,” he told a discussion pro-BNP Uttaranchal Chhatra Forum organised in Dhaka's Engineers' Institution, Bangladesh, marking the day of top BNP leader Tarique Rahman's release on bail after his arrest on different charges in 2007.
Awami League had fought for democracy and led the Liberation War, but now it is destroying the country's democracy, alleged Fakhrul.
He criticised the ruling AL, saying the suspected militants were killed in the name of “gunfight”.
