Fugitive accused held
Police arrested Mahboob Ali Khan Danny, one of the five accused of Himadri Majumder Himu murder case, from his residence at Panchlaish in Chittagong city yesterday morning.
A Chittagong court sent Danny, 28, son of Ahmmad Ali Khan of Khan Manjil at Panchlaish, to jail after he was produced before it in the afternoon, said Assistant Commissioner (prosecution) Nirmalendu Bikash Chakraborty of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
According to the case statement, centering his anti-drug role in the locality, A-level student Himu was brutally beaten, dogs were unleashed upon him, and then he was pushed off a four-storey building in Panchlaish Residential Area on April 27, 2012. He died at a hospital in Dhaka on May 23, 2012.
Of the accused, Shah Selim Tipu and Md Shahadat Hossain Saju are on the run while Jahedul Islam Shawon, and Tipu's son Junaid Ahmed Riad are on bail.
