Free medical camp in capital marking birthday of Ahsanullah
About 300 eye patients received free treatment, medicines and spectacles yesterday at a daylong medical camp set in the capital to mark the 144th birth anniversary of Islamic scholar and social reformer Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah.
Instructed by Ansaruddin Ahmed, Khadem of Pak Rawsa Sharif of Nalta Sharif in Satkhira, Nalta Central Ahsania Mission set the camp on its premises at Chalaban in the capital, said a press release.
On the occasion, five female students of an orphanage were also awarded. Ahsania Mission President Muhammad Selimullah chaired the function.
A seminar was also held. AFM Enamul Haque, coordinator of Nalta Central Ahsania Mission; Sheikh Mohammad, general secretary of Dhaka Mahanagar Shikkha Shamiti; Mainul Islam, an official of Bangla Academy; Lutfor Rahman, founding director of Chhayanir, and Farida Rahman Khan, advisor to Ahsania Mission Dhaka, spoke among others.
Earlier, some 500 patients received treatment at free medical camps on the first two Saturdays of December.
