Four die in 4 dists
A man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Idris Ali, 55 of the same upazila, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
The trio was on a rickshaw van when a speeding truck hit it at Boro-Manik area, leaving Idris Ali dead on spot, police said quoting witnesses.
The injured were rushed to the Panchbibi upazila Health Complex.
In a separate incident, an elderly man was killed in a road accident in Mohadevpur upazila in Naogaon yesterday.
The deceased Tamiz Uddin, 80 was a resident of Bhimpur village under the same upazila.
Police said a speeding passenger bus hit the elderly man while he was crossing Naogaon-Rajshahi road, leaving him seriously injured.
He succumbed to his injuries at the Mohadevpur upazila health complex.
Our Chittagong correspondent reports, a man was killed at Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong in the early hours of yesterday.
The deceased Abul Kalam, 50, a security guard of a container depot sustained serious injuries after being hit by a container laden lorry, said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Camp.
The man was rushed to CMCH where the duty doctors declared him dead.
In Jessore, a man was killed in a road accident in Gorpara Bazar area in Sharsha upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Titon Dhali, 35, a resident of the same upazila.
Police said, a Jessore bound truck hit Titon's van in the Gorpara Bazar area, killing him on spot.
