Foreigner held with drone at Dhaka airport

An American was detained with a drone at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka while leaving the country early yesterday.

He was identified as Mark Rumam Kutrobskir, 22, according to his passport, said Moinul Khan, director of Customs Intelligence.

Mark came to Bangladesh via an Emirates airline on January 26. On primary interrogation, he confessed to having captured still images and videos of Bangladesh with the drone.

Customs Intelligence officials are examining the memory card of this drone and the airport authorities have seized the drone, Moinul added.

The American was detained at the airport around 1:05am while he was leaving Bangladesh, he said.
