Five 'muggers' arrested

Police during a raid in Chittagong Railway Station area arrested five alleged muggers with three knives yesterday.

The arrestees are Md Sabuj, 24; Md Shamsul Haque, 23; Jahirul Islam, 25; Shahadat Hossain, 19; and Md Hridoy, 22, said a press release.

On information, a team of police from Kotwali Police Station conducted a drive in the area and made the arrests. During interrogation, they “admitted” that they were taking preparation to commit a robbery, it added.
