Fire fighters were able to douse the fire six hours after it erupted at bti Premier Plaza around 3:30am, Mizanur Rahman, a duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters, told The Daily Star.
There were no immediate reports of casualty as most of the residents of the building were awake for seheri and Fajr prayers, the fire service official said when this report was filed around 10:30am.
Fire fighters rescued around 120 residents from the rooftop of the plaza after they went up there for safety, he added.
