Hazaribagh slum fire under control

A fire that broke out at Balurmath slum in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area this afternoon has been brought under control.

No casualties were reported in the fire that originated at around 1:45pm.

On information, seven fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after an hour of frantic efforts, said Mahmud Haque, inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

The reason behind the origin of the fire and causality could not be ascertained immediately.
