Fire guts jhut warehouse in Ctg

Fire gutted valuables, worth Tk 3 lakh, at a jhut (scrap fabrics from garment factories) warehouse in Aturar Depot area in Chittagong city early yesterday, said fire officials.

The fire originated from a cigarette butt in the warehouse around 3:00am, they added.

Fire fighters managed to douse the blaze after five hours' frantic effort.
