Fire breaks out in Ctg RMG factory

A fire broke out in a garment factory in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong yesterday.

The fire started at 11:30am in Royal Knitting Factory in Banshbaria Magpukuria area, said fire service officials.

Valuables on all the floors of the three-storey factory building were burning, said Mohammad Zillur Rahman, duty officer at Agrabad Fire Station.

Five fire fighting units from various stations in the city rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 1:30pm, said Zillur.

The reason behind the fire can be ascertained and loss caused by it can be estimated after the fire is extinguished completely, he said.

No casualty was reported.
