Ex-IGP Kibria passes away
Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) ABMG Kibria died of old-age complications at a hospital in the capital on Sunday. He was 87.
Kibria, also an adviser to a former caretaker government, left behind his wife, a son and two daughters, said a press release.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held today after Zohr prayers at Gulshan Azad Mosque.
Kibria served as the IGP from 1978 to 1982. He was one of the witnesses in the Maj Gen Manzur killing case.
He also served as the high commissioner in Kenya and minister (consular) in Bangladesh embassy in India. He was the editor of “Detective”, a publication of Bangladesh Police, and authored the book “Police Administration in Bangladesh, Global Anti-terrorism”.
